hi wne tto see a doctor because i had pain in my chest (and was afraid i had something with my heart). The doc. ran soem tests; including EKG, blood tests AND a chest x-ray. all came back normal, with the exception of the x-ray. he said this is likely TB. when i asked what else this could be he said that a tumor, but that this is unlikely as i am a young woman (38), AND not smoking. is there anything you may add to my knowledge? are there any specific questions i should ask? I will have the skin TB test this week.
Hello Ayelet, The Dx of TB in your case is very tentative If your skin test, called also PPD, will turn positive this will suport the Dx but not necessarily establish it A positive sputum culture, on the other hand, is diagnostic All the best Efy
