Colitis (Tumeric-Curcum)

Dear Doctor, My son of 25 suffers from Colitis. I have always put Tumeric (Curcum) on his food and I'm certain that this helps to keep the inflammation at bay. Recently, however he had a kidney stone. Must I stop the use of the Curcum (as I heard it can cause stones or can I use it still in moderation? Thank.s
