a numb feeling in my left hand thumb

to whom it may concern. i am 24 years old, with no backround of any stress heart problems. im backpacking in south america for 2 AND a half months, at the moment Im 3 hours north from Santiego, Chile. Im in sea level alltitude. I am not on any medication nor treatment. I do not do drugs at all. in the past 24 hours, specially in the morning, i have a weird numb feeling in my left hand, the thumb area. the numb feeling which occurs in my left hand thumb, hasnt past in the last 2 hours, since i have been awake. do you think this requires an urgent medical attention? OR any other treatment? thanks a lot. Elad

Dr. Jacob. it has been 60 hours since my thumb has been numb. it is just like the feeling when you wake up, AND you have slept on your hand AND its all numb, but its only my thumb. do you think this deserves medical attention now? OR can i still wait till i get to santiago (in a day OR two). thanks Elad
